Froplay ZoomerPup: what it is and what it costs to return

Short version. Froplay is the oldest and most professionally run of the "AI robot puppy" funnels — the domain dates from April 2025, the checkout is polished, and the toy usually arrives. The toy is a nine-inch plush puppy with a motor, a bark-and-song sound chip, a "licking tongue" and a leash-shaped remote. It is the same product sold on Amazon under generic names for $35–$50, and Amazon listings titled "Froplay" name a Shenzhen toy manufacturer. There is no AI, no voice recognition and no learning. The problem buyers hit is the return: shipping the toy back is quoted at $50–$80, more than the order.

The advertorials promise "lifelike reactions powered by smart AI", "advanced voice recognition technology… simple voice commands like 'sit', 'come here' and 'play'", "touch, voice, motion and facial recognition" sensors, and "8,174 verified customer reviews". The product page itself leaks template text from a different product ("4 upgraded omnidirectional tires… dazzling lights and music"). The same "Carla" testimonial appears word for word on the Wuffy site.

Who sells it

Froplay's terms of service: "This website is operated by Cola… Room 702, 7/F, Spa Centre, 53-55 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai, HK… the terms 'we', 'us' and 'our' refer to Hilipert." The December 2025 version named Cola Technology International Co., Limited at the same address; the contact page gives COLAPA at Bright Way Tower, Mong Kok. Cola Technology holds the U.S. trademarks for Keilini and Hilipert, two earlier direct-response gadget brands. The FROPLAY trademark application (November 2025, "plush toys; smart plush toys") was filed by a different Hong Kong entity, Starlight E-Commerce, whose relationship to Cola we could not confirm.

The checkout page says "PROUDLY AMERICAN: We're 100% American-owned and operated" and the product page "Designed in U.S.A."

A network of affiliate sites (getfroplay.com, froplayzoomerpup.com, froplay.us, froplaydog.com and others, all registered November 2025 to March 2026) funnels into the same checkout. Two of them are word-for-word the Waggy advertorial. Wuffy's "get 70% off" button on one of its 2026 landing pages routes, via an affiliate tracker, into Froplay's checkout — the two operations are commercially linked.

Prices, shipping and returns

Live checkout, 6 September 2026: one unit $34.99 ("was $69.98"), two $54.99, three $59.99, four $69.99; a "Journey Package Protection" upsell; a five-minute "extra 10% coupon" countdown. An affiliate site advertises "$15.99 each". Amazon "Froplay" listings run $35.99–$49.99 with ratings of 2.9 to 3.5 stars.

Shipping: "10 to 15 business days" plus "1–4 days to prepare". Returns: 30 days, "unused and in the same condition", "you will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs". Buyers report $50–$80 return quotes against $8–$15 partial-refund offers, double billing, and orders the company "denied any record of".

If you already ordered

Do not pay to ship it to Hong Kong. Dispute the charge with your card issuer as "not as described", keep the ad and order page, and photograph what arrived. File a BBB Scam Tracker report. If you were double-billed, say so in the dispute; it is one of the recurring complaints.

What to buy instead

The same leash-remote plush, returnable: $39.99 on Amazon. Something that actually responds to a child's voice: the Sharper Image AI Dog ($99.99, a plastic trick robot, not a plush) or Loona. A puppy that feels alive for an older adult:
